Clean, safe water is vital to the health of all communities, especially rural and\u00a0<\/span>Tribal<\/span>\u00a0communities<\/span>. It is important that citizens in these communities understand basic water<\/span>\u00a0issues<\/span>, including quality, quantity, and link<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0to public health. To increase public understanding, t<\/span>he\u00a0<\/span>Southwest Environmental Finance Center<\/a> (<\/span>SW<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>EFC<\/span>), which is part of the Center for Water and the Environment<\/a> at the University of New Mexico<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>has created<\/span>\u00a0the Environment<\/span>-Focused\u00a0<\/span>Learning Academy (EFLA) to present non-partisan, fact-based, educational information about water resources and related issues in a variety of formats to community members and elected leaders.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>EFLA is a resource to hear from your peers or experts in the field on many topics related to water, wastewater, and stormwater. With\u00a0a\u00a0recently awarded\u00a0grant,\u00a0the SW EFC\u00a0is working with three\u00a0other University of New Mexico\u00a0departments to\u00a0develop\u00a0videos, podcasts, and digital learning modules\u00a0focused on water issues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
